In Training Assessment Form for SET
Trainees undertaking their training via the SET program are required to complete the following assessment forms for both mid-and-end-of-term assessments.
Completed assessments must be uploaded via the Trainee Management System (TMS). TMS is accessible by logging into your profile.
Logbook
Trainees on the SET program are required to submit their logbooks via the RACS Morbidity Audit and Logbook Tool – MALT. At the end of each term, Trainees must upload a copy of their MALT-produced summary report to TMS.
To access MALT, you will first need to log into the RACS website.

Assessment Tools
MINI-Clinical examination (CEX)
The Mini-Clinical Examination assessment is a workplace-based assessment tool. aimed at promoting learning by providing structured feedback on performance within a workplace context, and includes a self-evaluation component which is used to assist in teaching, management and assessment of clinical skills.
Direct Observation of Procedural Skills - dops
The Direct Observation of Procedural Skills – DOPS – is also a workplace-based assessment tool. DOPS is a concise, validated method of assessment, and aids a supervisor in observing a trainee conducting a procedure, and providing feedback about their performance.
