PROGRAM
Scientific Convenors: Dr Eugenia Ip & Dr Benjamin Privett
Running over two days, the annual Trainees’ Weekend is an opportunity for trainees to come together an informal weekend dedicated to key areas of the curriculum where day-to-day surgical exposure may be limited.
Focusing on a broad theme of ‘Beyond the Fundamentals of General Surgery’, this year’s program will focus on key areas of general surgery including skin, trauma, oncology, and hernia along with sessions dedicated to preparing for Fellowship Examination including first-hand experience from a recent exam passee, and tips and tricks from a senior examiner. A component of the program will also be dedicated to small group case discussions with expert surgeons from Victoria, which always proves to be invaluable.
All SET and GSET Trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates are welcome to attend.
Please get in touch with us via [email protected] for any enquiries.
Training Requirement
Eligible General Surgery Trainees who complete the Trainees’ Weekend program in full will receive a satisfactory completion of one (1) national educational activity as per the Regulations for the SET Program in General Surgery (Regulation 4.10 – National Educational Activities) and the Regulations for the GSET Program (Regulation 13.3 – National Training Activities).
