Excellence in Surgical Teaching Award

The GSA Excellence in Surgical Teaching Award was established to recognise the valuable contribution of a SET/GSET Supervisor or trainer/mentor that has positively impacted on the training program and/or Trainees, due to actions beyond the expectations of their role.

Call for Nominations

Nominations for the 2025 Excellence in Surgical Teaching Awards are now open.

The awards recognise General Surgical supervisors or trainers in each training state or territory that have had a positive impact on training and surgical experience during Term 1 & Term 2 – 2025.

Nominations must be received by 12.00pm Tuesday 10 March, 2026.

Previous recipients of the GSA Excellence in Surgical Teaching Award (who are not eligible for a period of five years from the year of their award) are detailed below.
