SET Program Research Requirement
All Trainees must complete the mandatory RACS Research Requirement as per the RACS Research During Surgical Education and Training Policy.
Please refer to the following as a guide towards completion.
Pre-Approval
Prior to commencing a project, Trainees must:
- Obtain pre-approval from your Training Committee to ensure project/s are appropriate
- Submit a Trainee Request via TMS to obtain pre-approval
Following the completion of your research, you must:
- Submit an online Trainee Request via TMS requesting recognition of approval of the research requirement by the Training Committee
- Following sign-off from the Training Committee, your request will be submitted to the ABiGS for final sign-off
You will need to have completed the above prior to applying for Fellowship.
On Completion
Presenting Your Research
Please refer to the list of ‘approved meetings’ to assist you in presenting your research.
*Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of meetings. If your meeting is not listed, please ensure you submit documentation to your Training Committee with evidence that your meeting was subject to a thorough abstract selection process and peer review. This will then be considered by the Training Committee.
