PFET

Post Fellowship Education and Training (PFET) programs provide opportunities for suitably qualified independent specialist surgeons to achieve advanced proficiency, knowledge, and skills in sub-specialty areas of practice. The General Surgery-related PFET programs are designed to complement a surgeons growth and expansion of skill set after completing the SET / GSET program and obtaining Fellowship.

GSA currently offers the following accredited PFET Programs:

  • Transplantation Surgery
  • Trauma Surgery

Transplant
Surgery

The Transplant Training Committee is responsible for the delivery of the PFET Program in Transplantation Surgery in Australia and New Zealand, including accreditation of training posts and the supervision and assessment of Post-Fellowship Trainees.

The PFET Program in Transplantation Surgery is governed by GSA’s policies and procedures of Post Fellowship Education and Training.

The Trauma Training Committee is responsible for the delivery of the PFET Program in Trauma Surgery in Australia, including accreditation of training posts and the supervision and assessment of Post-Fellowship Trainees.

The GSA Trauma Training Committee works in collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Surgery of Trauma (ANZAST) and its Executive, and is governed by GSA’s policies and procedures of Post Fellowship Education and Training.
