An established private surgical practice on the Sunshine Coast is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified General Surgeons with a special interest in Breast Surgery.

This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality surgical care within a supportive, well-established private practice, while developing and expanding a breast-focused surgical service. The role offers a flexible private practice model, to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The practice specialises in Breast, Endocrine, Skin and General Surgery and is committed to providing patient-centred care to metropolitan and regional communities. Care is supported by strong multidisciplinary collaboration and a comprehensive clinical and operational support structure, including:
• In-house Breast Physician
• Dedicated Breast Cancer and Wound Care Nurses
• Full practice management, administration and business development support
• Modern, fully equipped consulting suites

About the role

The successful applicant will provide evidence-based general surgical care, including outpatient consultations, operative services and peri-operative management. The role includes general surgery, colonoscopy and gastroscopy, skin surgery and breast surgical care.

Operating privileges at the major hospital will be arranged. There may also be potential access to fee-for-service public hospital overflow work through the hospital network, subject to negotiation.

The current surgeon will support referrals from their busy practice, and business development and marketing support will be provided to assist the successful applicant in building their private practice.

The employment and billing model will be negotiated, allowing flexibility based on experience, scope of practice and career goals.

You will be a motivated, collegial and community-minded surgeon who values multidisciplinary care, strong professional relationships and excellent patient outcomes.

Applicants should have:
• A primary medical/surgical degree with substantial postgraduate training
• Current AHPRA registration
• FRACS, NZAGS or equivalent fellowship
• Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements, including insurance and immunisation compliance
• Right to live and work in Australia
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
