Overview
The Role
Period: 9 February 2026 to 29 January 2027
Income: $180-200K via base salary and private assist fees
Hours: 4 day week plus 1 in 7 on-call
Procedures: 900 (500 majors) including
80 public laparoscopic gastric sleeves
100 major oncologic procedures (Peritonectomy/HIPEC, liver and colorectal)
Busy elective and emergency general surgery – three full days theatre per week.
An excellent position to gain experience in major open surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery (bariatric, hernia surgery, some colorectal) together with busy emergency surgery and elective general. The Fellow will be supported mostly by service registrars and intern; some SET supervision.
Essential criteria: FRACS, highly proficient at laparoscopic suturing and laparoscopic inguinal hernia, Australian/New Zealand resident
