Junior Doctor Research Grants
The Junior Doctor Research Grants Program has been established to support Junior Doctor Members in progressing or commencing research in General Surgery.
In 2026 we will be offering up to ten (10) grants, valued at $1,000 each, to be used towards costs associated with research, including but not limited to:
- Consumables
- Statistician
- Data collection and analysis
- Ethics applications
- Conference registration and accommodation, to present research
Eligibility
- You must be an active / financial GSA Junior Doctor member in order to apply.
- You must also be an active / financial GSA Junior Doctor member at the time of awarding of grants.
Key Dates
- Applications open – 11 November, 2025
- Applications close – 27 February, 2026
- Grant recipients notified – 3 April, 2026

APPLICATION PROCESS
Please complete the online application form and submit by the advertised closing date.
DOCUMENTATION
After an application is received, you will be requested to send the following supporting documentation in order to complete your application:
- Curriculum vitae
- Letter of support from Research Supervisor
- Ethics approval letter (if applicable)
Applications will be reviewed by the GSA Research & Scholarships Committee following the application close date.
