Do you have an interest in exploring innovations, challenges, and advancements in healthcare across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand? We invite you to submit a research paper on your own research topic within the context of healthcare.
This is an exciting opportunity for young doctors, medical students and SIMGs from across Victoria to present scientific research as oral and poster presentations in front of a panel of Surgeons.
The event is scheduled for Friday 20 November, from 2pm – 5pm at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Melbourne (250-290 Spring Street, East Melbourne) Participants will have the opportunity to submit a research paper in the following categories:
D R Leslie Prize: Awarded to the best clinical paper presented by a Victorian based registered Surgical Trainee.
R C Bennett Prize: Awarded to the best laboratory based research paper submitted by either a Victorian based medical student, unaccredited registrar, or accredited trainee.
DCAS Scholarship: Awarded to Victorian medical students whose paper demonstrates a real interest and potential in academic surgery, and who will most benefit from attending the DCAS course.
Medical Student Prize: The best presentation by a Victorian medical student.
Victorian Photography Prize: For best photo captured in your career or contribution to surgery. Open to all.
Due to a limited number of spaces available, submissions strictly close on 11:59pm, October 1, 2026, with no possibility for extension.
