RACS NSW Papers Day 2026 – Abstract Submission

The call for abstracts for the RACS NSW Research Awards is now open. An award will be granted to a Scientific lab-based research paper and to a Clinical research paper. Accepted abstracts will be presented in person as an oral PowerPoint presentation at the RACS NSW Papers Day event on Saturday 17 October 2026 at the RACS NSW State Office.

Should your paper be accepted for the RACS NSW Papers Day, it is expected that you attend the RACS NSW Surgeons’ Evening on Saturday 17 October for the announcement of the winner of each award. Attending Surgeons’ Evening will provide you with an opportunity to celebrate the winners’ achievements and network with other participants and attendees

The award is open to: 

  • A Medical student attending a Medical School in NSW
  • An early career medical officer from intern to unaccredited registrar or career medical officer
  • A trainee actively participating in the SET program (including interrupted training for the purpose of undertaking clinical research or Parental Leave)
  • An IMG on a pathway to Fellowship or
  • A Fellow who has obtained their FRACS within the last two years.

Abstracts to be submitted by 2 August 2026.
