Opportunities on the Unit:

The transplant unit at Monash Medical Centre is a busy unit, and also has extensive experience in vascular access surgery. It is expected that the Fellow will have involvement in all aspects of the unit’s work. This includes a weekly pre-transplant assessment clinic and weekly renal access and early post-transplant clinic. They will also be running the post-operative management of the patients, under the supervision of the transplant surgeons and in conjunction with our nephrology colleagues.

There will be access to deceased donor retrieval operations, particularly those performed at Monash Medical Centre where there is a busy neurosurgical and stroke service. The Fellow will learn the back-table preparation techniques. Research projects will be encouraged.
